Kept Days

Privacy policy

Last updated 16 October 2026

In short: your days stay on your iPhone and in your own iCloud. We don’t run servers that store your data, we don’t use analytics or ads, and we never see where you’ve been.

What the app stores

Kept Days stores the trips you add, your answers about days, and, if you turn on automatic logging, the country, time, time zone and a short place name (for example “Near Alicante”) for moments your iPhone recorded. Exact coordinates are not kept, except briefly on your device while the country is looked up.

This data is stored on your device and synced through your own iCloud account (Apple’s CloudKit private database). We, the developer, cannot read it.

Location

If you allow it, the app uses iOS’s low-power location events to note which country you are in. To turn a location into a country, the app uses Apple’s geocoding service, which receives the coordinates for that lookup. Apple’s privacy policy applies to that service.

Photos

If you use “Trips from your photos”, the app reads only the date and place of photos on your device to suggest trips. It never reads or uploads the pictures. Places are looked up with Apple’s geocoding service as above.

Purchases

Purchases are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to check which plan you have. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and your purchase history from Apple, not your trips or locations. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy.

What we don’t do

No analytics, no advertising, no tracking across apps or websites, no selling or sharing of data.

Your choices

You can export all your days as a CSV file at any time, delete any trip or answer in the app, turn off location in iOS Settings, and delete everything at once with Settings › Delete all my data in the app, which removes your records from this device and from your iCloud.
